Regional Tourism Board for the North East
Tourism Victoria has progressively working with the regions of Victoria to establish new regional tourism structures. The Regional Campaign Committee structures are being replaced by Regional Tourism Boards. The Boards continue the work of the Campaign Committees, but the peak regional tourism body will have a broader tenet to deliver on all aspects of tourism growth and development including: marketing, product and industry development, infrastructure development and investment attraction.
In March 2011, the Victorian Government in conjunction with six local shire councils established a new Regional Tourism Board to support, promote and develop North East Victoria's tourism industry.
The new North East Victoria Tourism Board Inc. replaced the North East Victoria Tourism Inc. Regional Campaign Committee to promote tourism in Victoria's High Country on 4 July 2011.
This new Regional Tourism Board is a partnership between Local Government, Tourism Victoria, Alpine Resorts, Parks Victoria and High Country tourism industry experts, who have a wealth of experience and skills to assist the High Country region face optimal growth opportunities.
The Board's major focus will be on the overarching strategic vision and direction for tourism, in the areas of marketing, investment attraction, developing industry skills, product development and industry communication throughout the North East of Victoria.
